It works just like controllers in Rails except that you can replace the middlewares on each Roda app. For example, you can remove the ETag middleware from apps handling streamed responses for example. This is very powerful and much better than the Rails way in my opinion. You can inherit Roda apps the same way controllers can inherit from each other... I wouldn't say "roda is good enough", since I find it allows way more powerful possibilities when compared to Rails...

When combined with proper lazy code loading techniques (rather than the auto-load strategy adopted by Rails), the application can boot in no time, without having to resort to hacks like spring. Also, running a single feature test would finish in no time too, while it can take a few seconds to boot a common Rails app to run feature tests...

Re: Neeraj Kumar (neerajk.com)

Its true what you said, if we are building each part of our application as multiple smaller application (like a service oriented architecture) roda would be good enough.

Re: Neeraj Kumar (neerajk.com)

I'm betting I'll be more productive with Roda and that's why I'm slowly replacing my big Rails app to Roda. For a while the application will run both Roda and Rails at the same time... I intend to write more about this and the reasonings behind this decision at some point, but right now I'm focused on some devops stuff... But I'm pretty sure it's possible to become highly productive with a Roda-only big app composed by small applications using the multi_run plugin. That's what I'm currently betting on. But I agree, Rails is still great, it's just that I think Roda is awesome.

Re: Neeraj Kumar (neerajk.com)

> I heard about Roda which could suppose to be a replacement of Rails
it's a lie

Re: Neeraj Kumar (neerajk.com)

I build my first web application in ruby using cuba and sequel. Roda is inspired from Cuba. It is definitly faster than rails when it comes to handelling request, as it doesn't have as much middleware as rails. But i don't think one would be as productive in roda as one would be in rails.

Re: Is ActiveSupport::Concern really Another Concern?

@Neeraj Kumar: Sir, thnx for this and other Rails related posts here. They were worth reading. Sir, can you please explain the reason behind the Services folder which comes by default in Rails 4. I have a basic idea about that. Services is a place to keep our PORO classes. But that we can keep in a different folder made by us too. Is there any advantage of the services folder ?
Thnx

Re: We are still living in 90s

There are better security auditors out there who know how to do security audit for cloud applications.
